Party with Jackson!

Bryson's buddy Jackson got to come over for a playdate while Jackson's mommy and daddy went to the A&M game. They ate pizza and cookies, watched Finding Nemo, and got to get ready for bedtime together. They are such sweet boys and loved hanging out. I thought it would be more of a challenge but having two was easier than one! They entertained each other! Jackson is especially flexible and went right to sleep in his pack n play in our bedroom. I was surprised by that and thought he might be a little scared of the new surroundings. What a little champ! Bryson loved that Jackson was there - the next morning, Bryson said "Jack Jack" when I went to get him. I think these boys are gonna be big buddies!

First day of MDO!

The day I've been waiting for all summer has finally arrived. Don't get me wrong, I love my little monkey and will miss him while he's at school but I need time to get things done. Anyone who has a toddler will understand that even the simplest tasks are difficult to complete with a toddler (ex: unloading a dishwasher, going to the dry cleaners, taking a shower, etc.). I thought I would be more excited of my new found freedom after I dropped him off but I was pretty sad. He clung to me like a spider monkey and I had to pry his fingers off my shirt. It crushed me. It was like that for the first week (he goes every Tuesday/Thursday) and then the second week, he threw up on Tuesday after lunch so I took him to the doc and he had severe double ear infections so we missed that Thursday too. By the following Tuesday, he happily walked right in to the classroom after calmly kissing me goodbye. AMAZING. He loves school, especially music class (the teachers tell me he's quite the booty shaker) and loves his teachers. I'm so happy I made this choice and am even a member of the PTO. Who would've ever thought I would be a PTO mom? LOL.

Jamaica 2010

We are normally Mexico bound for our vacations since its so convenient to Houston and all but given the latest events in that country, we decided to venture elsewhere. Montego Bay was our choice (OK, really, it was MY choice as my requirements are no longer than a 4 hour direct flight so we can quickly get home to our monkey if he needs us). It was an excellent choice. I'm normally timid about getting in the ocean (especially since it happened to be shark week on the discovery channel before we left home - Nick insisted we watch it) but this water was like a giant, warm bath tub. We only got in the swimming pool once - that says A LOT. We stayed at the Secrets St. James and it was wonderful. All inclusive (that is always Nick's requirement) and the food and drinks were splendid! We completely relaxed and planned NO excursions which is very unusual for us. I think we just needed to unwind and do nothing but eat, drink, sleep, and repeat. The sunsets there were breathtaking. It was a wonderful trip and we definitely recommend Montego Bay and the Secrets St. James resort!

I had to share this picture b/c it showcases my little ham and how he flat out knows he's adorable. He loves his daddy's boots and loves to be center of attention. I love my little munchkin!

We finally got our little monkey baptised today and the service was wonderful! We didn't make a big hooplah out of this with friends and extended family, so please don't have hurt feelings if you're reading this and feeling like we left you out. We just wanted it to be small with immediate family members only. He didn't want the pastor to hold him so mommy got that priviledge during the baptism. ;-) Bryson did really well until the music stopped and big church began so I took him to the nursery for the remainder of the service. I think our family all liked our church and the message was great too! We had a nice, casual lunch at Goode & Co BBQ afterwards with a little cake for Bryson. We love you Bryson Ray and are so proud of the little man you already are! You make us so proud and our love for you is so much that we can't even express it with words.

Avery's birthday party!

Little miss Avery had her party today at the Inflatable Zone in Katy. Yes, we've been there before but this time, Bryson was all over it. He loved the big slide and wore his daddy out going climbing those stairs. It was such a great party and Bryson had such a great time....until....:::cue scary music::: the arrival of ELMO. Whoa. I have NEVER seen my child so scared. NEVER. He was crying so hard there was no noise coming out of his mouth. Just frozen with sheer terror. And, unfortunately, he was the only child scared like that. But to be honest, he has never been interested in Elmo - watching him or playing with the tickle me Elmo. Hmmm. We just hung out in the back corner until Elmo left, got him a piece of cake, an animal balloon and he was a happy camper again. In the picture with Elmo, Bryson is the 3 child from can tell he's freaked. Is it mean that I think this is funny?

Children's Museum with Avery

Happy Birthday Princess Avery!! I can't believe she's already two years old! This is Bryson's girlfriend I'm writing about and she's just such a beautiful and sweet little girl. She loves Bryson and calls him "Bryceeee". It's pretty cute. They play so sweet together. I didn't take too many pictures b/c I know my SHOULD BE photographer friend, Shanna, will take some amazing pics with her camera. So, with that being said, as soon as Shanna sends me those pics, I will upload the really good ones. Anyway, we hit their HEB grocery store and the kids loved that. Afterwards, we went upstairs to the tot spot and Bryson was not happy when it was time to leave and have lunch. We saw the Flow works water area, an ambulance and Bryson ran off from me at one point to the news room. The kids were zonked after all that but it was such a fun day!!
